nooooooooooooo Broadway is for BROADWAY stars. With a few exceptions, everybody else is crap. It’s hard enough to make it on Broadway without Hollywood taking away all the good roles

That’s silly. Broadway stars weren’t always Broadway stars. If you have that kind of mentality, Kristin Chenoweth— who was originally going to school to be an opera singer— doesn’t deserve to be on that stage. When, in fact, she does. There are also a lot of people, like Darren Criss who just left the role, who originally wanted to do theatre, but they got a chance on television or film first. You’re really going to deny them the dream they worked so hard for? Daniel Radcliffe was amazing in this role and you can’t tell me he didn’t deserve it because he was Harry Potter first.

Broadway isn’t a place for a certain person. Broadway is a place for those who are talented, enjoy the theatricality of it, enjoy the thrill of live performance. Broadway shows have taught us that “hey— it’s okay to be different! We won’t judge you here!” Yet, here you are, saying someone doesn’t deserve to be on that stage because they’re from Hollywood. Who are you to judge that?

And Nick Jonas began performing on Broadway when he was, what, 7 or 8? So honestly, your argument is sort of moot because he was on Broadway before television.

You’re reading what I typed wrong. My argument is based on the fact that ppl should be on Broadway based on talent alone. So I’m not bashing the stars themselves, but the people who gave them the job.  Daniel Radcliffe, Darren Criss, Nick Jonas: I guarantee that they would not have gotten the role if they had not been famous already (well, minus Darren cuz I’ve never seen him do Broadway stuff before). And I don’t mean to deny them their dream, but do you know how many other people share the same dream? You know how many other guys could be up there that would’ve been tons better? I’m not saying they’re not talented, but performing on Broadway is another thing completely. It requires a different set of talents that I’m sorry to say these guys don’t have.

Btw, I do think Daniel Radcliffe was good, but not great. He’s a surprisingly great dancer but his singing voice is on the weak side. Again, without his star status he would’ve never made it up there

And your point about Kristen Chenoweth makes no sense. I never said that she couldnt be on Broadway because she didn’t study it in college.
